    Ultrasound provides us opportunities to "see" uterine and ovarian structures. We use this sophisticated tool in mare and cow fertility wellness exams and in management of their heat cycles. After breeding, it also allows for pregnancy diagnosis as early as 15 days in horses and 30 days in cattle. In some cows, we are able to identify the sex of the fetus in these early exams. We also use ultrasound to do limited pregnancy diagnosis in llamas and alpacas as well.
